Market Brief
Market Read
  • The market is in a Rotation regime with moderate confidence (0.6) and early expansion economic cycle, supporting growth in Banking, Consumer Discretionary, Real Estate, and Auto sectors.
  • Strong FII buying (net +3114.68 today) suggests positive sentiment despite a mixed DII signal.
  • Bullish market breadth with a net advance of 1188 further supports upward momentum.
Risk Posture
  • Given a rising VIX (+1.4%) and early expansion phase, maintain a cautious yet optimistic stance.
  • The TRIN at 0.95 indicates neutral risk but watch closely for any shifts towards market hesitancy.
  • Defensive posturing should be considered due to recent volatility despite bullish opportunities.
Where to Focus
  • Prioritize investment in leading sectors such as IT & Technology (+14.6% 1M), and Banking - PSU (+5.2% 1M), which are showing strong Relative Strength (RS).
  • Additionally, explore opportunities in Media & Entertainment and Pharma, which are benefiting from market recovery signals.
  • Avoid sectors like Utilities and FMCG as they lag in this economic phase.
What Would Change
  • A shift in market breadth from bullish to neutral tones or a reversal in FII net flows could signal a potential decline in the rotation's momentum.
  • Additionally, if VIX continues to climb significantly, it could herald increased market risk, necessitating a reevaluation of the current optimistic stance.

  • Its rotation score stands at 10.0, buoyed by a healthy breadth of 89% (50DMA).

  • Growth potential is apparent as sales and profitability cycles are improving in this sector.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • Risk management should account for a potential pullback given the index's overbought conditions, with tight stop-loss levels advisable around the supertrend support of ₹31,444.

Banking - PSU
MEDIUM Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • The Banking - PSU sector ranks second with a +5.2% gain over the month against the Nifty 500, clocking a rotation score of 7.1.
  • However, its breadth remains weak at 33%, suggesting narrow participation.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • The macroeconomic tailwinds of +0.42 offer support despite a generally neutral seasonal outlook, pointing toward modest improvements in growth cycles.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • Risk & tactical views involve monitoring technical breakdowns given the weak breadth and managing entry and exit points with clear stop-loss at support levels around ₹8,346.95.

Media & Entertainment
MEDIUM Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • With a recent 5D surge of +3.9% and a 6M gain of +11.8%, the Media & Entertainment sector ranks third and has a rotation score of 4.8.
  • Despite lacking breadth data, sector strength persists.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • Driven by macro tailwinds with a sector macro score of +0.43, the resilience is notable amid VIX volatility.
  • Valuations are supportive in light of robust earnings rebounding.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • Maintaining positions near key support levels is prudent while awaiting confirmation above resistance levels, with careful position management due to undefined breadth.

Banking - Private
LOW Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • Banking - Private ranks #4 in the current NSE rotation screen with a composite score of 4.5, driven by a +1.2% 1-month return and -0.6% relative strength above Nifty 500 — near-benchmark performance.
  • The 5-day return of +0.7% suggests continued near-term momentum.
  • Momentum is accelerating: the 1M gain of 1.2% exceeds the 3M annualized run-rate (-1.2% per month), implying a fresh acceleration.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • The balanced timeframe profile — 1M +1.2%, 3M -3.7%, 6M +2.9% — indicates a sector building momentum progressively.
  • The rotation score of 4.5 and 1M relative strength of -0.6% place this sector in the tactical opportunity zone.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • Key watchpoints: sustaining RS above -0.3% (40% pullback threshold) on consolidation would confirm the rotation is durable.
  • Risk: rotation score of 4.5 is below 5, suggesting weak conviction — monitor for a drop out of the top 6.

Pharma & Healthcare
LOW Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • Pharma & Healthcare ranks #5 in the current NSE rotation screen with a composite score of 4.3, driven by a +3.0% 1-month return and +1.3% relative strength above Nifty 500 — near-benchmark performance.
  • The 5-day return of +5.2% suggests continued near-term momentum.
  • Momentum is accelerating: the 1M gain of 3.0% exceeds the 3M annualized run-rate (0.6% per month), implying a fresh acceleration.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • The 15.5% 6-month return establishes Pharma & Healthcare as a sustained outperformer, not a tactical bounce.
  • Multi-timeframe strength — 1M +3.0%, 3M +1.7%, 6M +15.5% — confirms deep institutional participation and structural sector tailwinds beyond short-term noise.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • Key watchpoints: sustaining RS above 0.8% (40% pullback threshold) on consolidation would confirm the rotation is durable.
  • Risk: rotation score of 4.3 is below 5, suggesting weak conviction — monitor for a drop out of the top 6.
  • Pharma is still behaving like a defensive-growth pocket rather than a broad beta leader.
  • The sector is up +3.0% over 1M with RS +1.3% vs Nifty 500, but only 60% of names above 50DMA, so the trade remains selective.
  • Prefer earnings-visible leaders and avoid paying up for weak follow-through.

EV & Auto Ancillaries
LOW Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • EV & Auto Ancillaries ranks #6 in the current NSE rotation screen with a composite score of 4.0, driven by a +1.5% 1-month return and -0.3% relative strength above Nifty 500 — near-benchmark performance.

  • Momentum is accelerating: the 1M gain of 1.5% exceeds the 3M annualized run-rate (-3.9% per month), implying a fresh acceleration.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • The 6-month return of -1.0% reveals that the recent 1.5% 1M surge is a recovery rally rather than a trend continuation.
  • Positioning should remain tactical: the 1M relative strength of -0.3% vs Nifty 500 warrants attention but the negative 6M base demands caution on sizing.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • Key watchpoints: sustaining RS above -0.2% (40% pullback threshold) on consolidation would confirm the rotation is durable.
  • Risk: rotation score of 4.0 is below 5, suggesting weak conviction — monitor for a drop out of the top 6.

Short-Term Technical View
Broader market and selected index view from PostgreSQL index EOD history. Latest data: 2026-11-02.

Broader Market Technical Narrative

Market Regime
  • Nifty IT stands out as a relative strength leader over the short term, with gains over one week and one month, bullish SMA alignment, RSI above 65, and MACD confirmation of its bullish trend.
Laggards & Watch Areas
  • Other sectors, such as Nifty Auto, Nifty Bank, and Nifty FMCG, exhibit weak trends despite bullish MACD signals, largely influenced by negative returns over three months and RSI values below 50, showing potential short-term underperformance.
Confirmation & Key Levels
  • The broader market regime reflects a mixed picture, with Nifty 50 showing a constructive trend supported by strong RSI and MACD signals, indicative of a potential stabilization after prior downturn.
  • Nifty Pharma also reflects a constructive outlook, trading above key moving averages, supported by a bullish MACD signal, however, close to overhead resistance.
  • Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal indices similarly convey weak trends with mixed SMA alignment and RSI near the neutral zone, implying continued caution.
  • The energy-focused indices like Nifty Oil & Gas and Nifty Energy suggest a constructive stance owing to recent positive returns, though hindered by mixed SMA alignment and recent negative returns over longer durations.
  • The absence of valid VCP flags indicates a lack of volatility contraction patterns across sectors, limiting predictability for imminent price movements.
  • Overall, while some pockets like IT show strength, broader market trends suggest cautious optimism tempered by sector-specific challenges.
VWAP / Data Limits
  • This suggests potential continued momentum, although with VWAP status unavailable, volume-based insights are limited.
Data note: VWAP is marked unavailable where index volume is absent or zero.

Global / US Context

Local cache-driven global backdrop for the NSE report. No external report is opened from this tab.

Narrative

The cached Global / US snapshot from 2026-05-29 showed RISK-ON conditions, with SOXX - SOXX 1M 26.5% | RS/SPY 51.1 setting the tone. Across the current cache we have 66 tracked symbols, 5 Stage 2 leaders, and 5 VCP / contraction watches. At the time of this cache, the read was: The global backdrop is mixed, so the best Indian trades will still come from local relative strength and price confirmation. The cache is 157 days old, so this section is stale directional context, not a current global market read. The clearest India read-through from this cache is: IT & Technology: positive; Electronics / EMS: positive; Energy - Oil & Gas: positive; Aviation / Paints / Tyres: negative. That does not automatically translate into a trade, but it does help rank sectors that may benefit if global leadership keeps holding.

Methodology
How each score and screen is calculated.
1 · Scoring Frameworks
R
Sector Rotation Score

Ranks sectors by short-term momentum and relative strength versus the Nifty 500 benchmark. Positive values mean the sector is outperforming the broad market. The five sub-components capture momentum across multiple timeframes, with the heaviest weight on 1-month RS.

0.35 × RS_1M + 0.25 × RET_1M
+ 0.20 × RS_5D + 0.10 × RS_3M + 0.10 × RS_6M
RS_xM = sector return minus Nifty 500 return over the same period
S
Investment Score

Per-stock composite score (0–100+) that blends price momentum, relative strength, fundamentals, and qualitative bonuses. Use it to rank candidates within a sector, not across sectors. Stage 2 stocks receive +4; Stage 3 = −5; Stage 4 = −8.

0.38 × Tech + 0.27 × RS_rank + 0.25 × Fund
+ Pattern bonus (+3) + Supertrend bonus (+2)
+ Signal bonus (F&O/Insider) + Stage bonus (±4/−5/−8)
T
Technical Score

Aggregates price-based momentum signals: RSI (14), distance from 52W high, SMA50/SMA200 position, short-term rate-of-change, and volume trend. Scored 0–100; values above 60 indicate strong uptrend conditions.

RSI, SMA50/200 crossover, 52W high proximity,

F
Fundamental Score

Enhanced composite score sourced from the Screener.in pipeline, covering earnings quality, revenue growth, balance sheet strength, and institutional interest. Refreshed weekly.

Score: 0–100 · Source: fundamental_scores_database.csv
≥65: Strong · 50–65: Moderate · <50: Speculative
P
Peak Resilience Score

Identifies stocks trading within 20% of their 52-week high — the hallmark of institutional accumulation. Scores favour stocks near their peak with strong technicals, fast drawdown recovery, and solid fundamentals.

0.25 × Tech + 0.20 × RS + 0.20 × RecoverySpeed
+ 0.20 × HighProximity + 0.15 × Fund
2 · Trend & Pattern Indicators
ST
Supertrend

ATR-based dynamic support/resistance line. When price closes above the band the signal turns Bullish; below it turns Bearish. A flip from Bear→Bull adds +2 to the Investment Score. Works best on daily timeframe with a 1–2 week holding horizon.

Period: 10 · Multiplier: 3.0 · Source: NSE OHLC cache
Score bonus: +2 (Bull), −1 (Bear)
B
Consolidation Breakout

Flags stocks that have just broken above a tight multi-week base. Requires the latest close to exceed the prior 20-session high, the base to be narrow (≤12% range), and volume to spike to at least 1.4× the 20-day average — confirming institutional demand.

Lookback: 20 sessions · Base width ≤ 12%
Volume threshold: 1.4× 20D avg · Score bonus: +3
A1
Stage Analysis (O'Neil / Weinstein)

Classifies every stock into one of four price-cycle stages using the SMA 50/200 structure and their slopes. Stage 2 is the preferred research filter for long-only setups (not a buy recommendation). Stage 3 (distribution) and Stage 4 (decline) are excluded from the research shortlist.

  • Stage 2 — Markup ✅: Price > SMA50 > SMA200, both slopes rising, within 20% of 52W high. Score +4.
  • Stage 1 — Base: Price near 200 DMA, MAs flat. Accumulation phase. Score 0.
  • Stage 3 — Distribution ⚠: Near highs but SMA50 flattening, ATR expanding. Score −5.
  • Stage 4 — Decline ❌: Price < SMA50 < SMA200, both MAs falling. Score −8.

Reading the Signals Button

Each stock row has a compact Signals button showing three coloured dots. Click to expand a popup with the full detail for each signal type. Click anywhere else to close.

Green — Bullish signal (F&O bull, insider buy, bullish event)
Red — Bearish signal (F&O bear, insider sell/pledge)
Grey — Neutral / mixed signal
Blue — Upcoming corporate event
Light — No data for this signal type
F&O
F&O Signals

Derived from NSE Futures & Options data. The Put/Call Ratio (PCR) and Open Interest (OI) trend identify smart-money positioning. An expanding OI with rising price confirms a strong trend; falling OI on a rally is a warning.

  • BULL: PCR > 1.2 or OI trending up with price rise
  • MILD_BULL / MILD_BEAR: Mixed OI signals
  • BEAR: PCR < 0.7 or OI building on price decline
Score bonus: +2 (BULL), +1 (MILD_BULL), −1 (MILD_BEAR), −3 (BEAR)
IN
Insider Alerts

Monitors SEBI bulk/block deal disclosures and promoter shareholding changes. Promoter buying at market price is one of the strongest fundamental signals; promoter pledging or large block selling flags elevated risk.

  • PROMOTER_BUYING: +6 score · INSIDER_BUY: +4
  • BULK_DEAL_BUY: +3 · BULK_DEAL_SELL: −3
  • PROMOTER_SELLING: −4 · PROMOTER_PLEDGE: −5

EV
Corporate Events

Surfaces the next material event (earnings, dividend, board meeting, AGM, split, bonus) from the NSE corporate actions calendar. Urgency is colour-coded by days remaining.

  • 🔴 ≤ 3 days: Imminent — animated pulse badge
  • 🟡 4–7 days: This week — amber badge
  • 🔵 8–30 days: Upcoming — blue badge
  • ⚪ > 30 days: Far out — grey badge
Score bonus: +3 (results ≤7d), +1 (dividend), −1 (AGM/EGM)
4 · Sectoral Seasonality — How to Read the Heat Calendar
B3
Sectoral Heat Calendar (7-Year Monthly Returns)

The heat calendar shows the average return for each NSE sector index in every calendar month, computed over the last 7 years of NSE index data. It answers: "Historically, has this sector tended to go up or down in this month?"

Reading the Colours
> +5%
+2% → +5%
+1% → +2%
0% → +1%
−1% → 0%
−1% → −2%
−2% → −5%
−5% → −10%
< −10%

Arrows inside each cell: ↑ avg > +1% · → flat (−0.5% to +1%) · ↓ avg < −0.5%.
The current month row is highlighted in blue with a ◀ marker.

Signals Derived

Each sector is tagged TAILWIND, HEADWIND, or NEUTRAL for the current month based on its historical average return:

  • TAILWIND: avg monthly return > +2% over ≥5 years of data
  • HEADWIND: avg monthly return < −1%
  • NEUTRAL: between −1% and +2%, or fewer than 5 observations

These signals appear as coloured tags on sector headers in the Sector Rotation tab and as a summary in the Overview.

⚠ Interpretation Guidance

Seasonal patterns are probabilistic, not deterministic. A TAILWIND month improves the base rate; it does not guarantee a positive return. Always cross-reference with the Rotation Score and the current market regime (displayed in the top banner). A HEADWIND season in a strong uptrend sector is less of a deterrent than in a weakening one. Use seasonality as a tie-breaker, not the primary filter.

Drawdown from 52W High

The DD% column shows how far the index is currently trading below its 52-week high. This is the most direct measure of whether an index has corrected or is still near peak levels.

  • 0% to −5%: Near all-time / 52W high — strong trend
  • −5% to −15%: Healthy pullback — possible buy zone
  • −15% to −30%: Correction — wait for base or reversal signal
  • > −30%: Deep decline — avoid unless very strong catalyst
