Market Brief
Market Read
  • The market is currently in a rotation regime with moderate confidence (0.6).
  • Rotation is characterized by shifting flows and the economic cycle is in recovery, signaling a potential upside, especially in sectors such as Banking and Infrastructure.
  • The macro backdrop remains stable with India VIX at 16.4 and Nifty 50 showing minor changes at 22699, consistent with early recovery alignment.
Risk Posture
  • Adopt a cautiously bullish posture.
  • The positive FII and DII net inflow over five days suggests increased institutional interest, with a combined net of 871.83 crores for FIIs and 643.35 crores for DIIs.
  • TRIN value of 0.71 and signal 'BULLISH' indicate underlying strength, though the still neutral breadth warrants vigilance.
Where to Focus
  • Emphasize potential investments in sectors like Banking, Infrastructure, and IT & Technology.
  • The IT & Technology sector shows strong growth with a 1-month change of +14.3% and relative strength of +18.1%.
  • However, maintain a watchful eye on how the Banking sector develops given its historical sensitivity to early recovery phases.
What Would Change
  • Watch for changes in breadth momentum; a shift from neutral to positive with improved net advances would enhance bullish conviction.
  • A breakout above the Nifty 50's resistance levels or significant shifts in macro indicators or economic cycle confidence from recovery to early expansion could further solidify the bullish stance.

Sector Analysis Narratives

IT & Technology
HIGH Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • The IT & Technology sector leads the rotation with a remarkable 14.3% gain over the last month and 11.2% over 6 months, considerably outperforming the Nifty 500 by +18.1% in 1M RS.
  • The rotation score stands at 13.4, with strong breadth at 89%, making it the top sector in terms of momentum and relative strength.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • Despite a neutral seasonal outlook and macro headwinds, the sector's high valuation is justified by strong earnings growth, driven by ongoing digital transformation trends globally.
  • The sector witnesses positive quarterly and annual earnings growth, sustaining investor interest despite macroeconomic headwinds.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • The key risk for this sector is its recently elevated valuation, but with a healthy breadth and robust RS, key ETFs or constituent breakouts could be pursued with a target range for entry as indicated by specific entries in stocks like COFORGE.
  • Keep a trailing stop at current Supertrend levels for protection.
RS +18.1%Rotation Score 13.4Breadth 89%
Media & Entertainment
MEDIUM Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • The Media & Entertainment sector is second in rotation, with a 1M gain of 4.2% and an RS of +8.0% against the Nifty 500 benchmark.
  • Despite a negative 5D performance of -1.8%, the rotation score is 6.2, indicating moderate momentum.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • Though the sector faces neutral seasonal trends and a neutral macro score, structurally the industry's focus on digital content creation and consumption trends could provide medium-term catalysts.
  • Current performance could be more tactical as valuation context implies room for correction.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • Given the lack of breadth data and mediocre recent performance, potential entrants should wait for momentum reconfirmation, especially in broader market pullbacks.
  • Tactical entries could be considered on successfully confirmed breakouts of underlying stocks, utilizing supports at sector-wide levels.
RS +8.0%Rotation Score 6.25D -1.8%
Banking - Private
MEDIUM Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • Private Banking ranks third despite a negative 1M performance of -0.9%, showcasing a 5.5 rotation score aided by a modest RS of +2.9% vs Nifty 500.
  • Depth of participation remains weak at 30%, marking divergence from price action.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • Neutral seasonal and macro trends leave sector dynamics heavily dependent on individual stock performance and external financial regulation factors, though stable loan growth and cost efficiency have been typically supportive.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • With a bullish divergence noted, investors are advised to maintain a close watch on improvements in breadth and any confirmed breakouts.
  • Position size should remain controlled, with stop-losses managed around recent lows, awaiting favorable macro signals for expansion.
Rotation Score 5.5RS +2.9%Breadth 30%
Banking - PSU
LOW Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • Ranked fourth, PSU Banking underperforms with a -2.0% 1M return but holds a slight 1M RS of +1.8% vs Nifty 500, underlining its rotation score of 4.2 with a predominantly weak 17% breadth.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • Without distinct sectoral tailwinds and amidst neutral macroeconomic conditions, the current trend continues sideways.
  • Nevertheless, lower valuations and high leverage could potentiate quick movements on any positive policy news or yield curve adjustments.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • With notable weakness in breadth and the absence of significant institutional buying, the tactical approach necessitates smaller position sizes and firm adherence to defined stop-loss levels.
  • Await potential rotation signals or breakouts before larger exposure is considered.
RS +1.8%Rotation Score 4.2Breadth 17%
Infrastructure
LOW Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • Infrastructure is positioned fifth, reflecting current sluggishness with a 1M decline of -2.6% and weak breadth at 30%, albeit an RS vs Nifty 500 of +1.3% suggests limited underperformance.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • While infrastructure development remains a governmental focus, neutral macro sentiments and headwinds persist.
  • Long-term growth projections are positive but may not immediately reflect in equity returns absent policy shifts or fiscal injections.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • Given current technicals, prudent waiting for favorable confirmations is essential.
  • Possible entry points might arise upon a sector-wide base formation with affordable valuations to mitigate risk.
RS +1.3%Rotation Score 4.0Breadth 30%
Pharma & Healthcare
LOW Conviction
📈 Rotation Dynamics
  • Despite a sector rotation rank of sixth, Pharma & Healthcare shows inconsistency with a 6M gain of 13.4% and a low 1M decline of -2.7%.
  • RS is moderately positive at +1.1% as momentum varies across sub-segments.
🏭 Fundamental Drivers
  • Given strong R&D and domestic consumption, the sector requires prudence as macro conditions evolve neutral.
  • Disparate earnings cycles and regulatory factors challenge uniform sector conviction, though selective stock picking aligns with growth peaking during current technological acquisitions and alliances.
⚠️ Risk & Tactical View
  • With stock-specific narratives leading over broader trends, concentrated investment in leading index constituents appears strategic, with substantial stops considering potential industry re-rating as catalysts unfold.
  • Pharma is still behaving like a defensive-growth pocket rather than a broad beta leader.
  • The sector is up -2.7% over 1M with RS +1.1% vs Nifty 500, but only 35% of names above 50DMA, so the trade remains selective.
  • Prefer earnings-visible leaders and avoid paying up for weak follow-through.

Broader Market Technical Narrative

Market Regime
  • The broader market regime currently shows mixed signals across various NSE sectors.
Laggards & Watch Areas
  • Nifty IT stands out as a relative strength leader with a strong short-term trend, supported by a positive SMA alignment and a bullish MACD signal.
  • Key sectors like Nifty Bank, Energy, FMCG, and Midcap 100 display bearish trends with SMA alignment below crucial moving averages, bearish MACD signals, and sub-40 RSI readings, indicating potential continued weakness.
Confirmation & Key Levels
  • It nears overbought levels with an RSI of 68.5, yet remains below its key resistance.
  • Conversely, Nifty 50 exhibits a weak trend with mixed SMA alignment and a bullish MACD signal, but RSI below neutral suggests caution.
  • Nifty Pharma and Oil & Gas, although weak, show bullish MACD signals, hinting at possible early signs of trend reversals.
  • Overarching sentiment points towards select sector rotation opportunities, particularly in tech-related areas, while maintaining a cautious stance on broader market challenges.
VWAP / Data Limits

Global / US Context

Local cache-driven global backdrop for the NSE report. No external report is opened from this tab.

Narrative

The cached Global / US snapshot from 2026-05-29 showed RISK-ON conditions, with SOXX - SOXX 1M 26.5% | RS/SPY 51.1 setting the tone. Across the current cache we have 66 tracked symbols, 5 Stage 2 leaders, and 5 VCP / contraction watches. At the time of this cache, the read was: The global backdrop is mixed, so the best Indian trades will still come from local relative strength and price confirmation. The cache is 152 days old, so this section is stale directional context, not a current global market read. The clearest India read-through from this cache is: IT & Technology: positive; Electronics / EMS: positive; Energy - Oil & Gas: positive; Aviation / Paints / Tyres: negative. That does not automatically translate into a trade, but it does help rank sectors that may benefit if global leadership keeps holding.

Methodology
How each score and screen is calculated.
1 · Scoring Frameworks
R
Sector Rotation Score

Ranks sectors by short-term momentum and relative strength versus the Nifty 500 benchmark. Positive values mean the sector is outperforming the broad market. The five sub-components capture momentum across multiple timeframes, with the heaviest weight on 1-month RS.

0.35 × RS_1M + 0.25 × RET_1M
+ 0.20 × RS_5D + 0.10 × RS_3M + 0.10 × RS_6M
RS_xM = sector return minus Nifty 500 return over the same period
S
Investment Score

Per-stock composite score (0–100+) that blends price momentum, relative strength, fundamentals, and qualitative bonuses. Use it to rank candidates within a sector, not across sectors. Stage 2 stocks receive +4; Stage 3 = −5; Stage 4 = −8.

0.38 × Tech + 0.27 × RS_rank + 0.25 × Fund
+ Pattern bonus (+3) + Supertrend bonus (+2)
+ Signal bonus (F&O/Insider) + Stage bonus (±4/−5/−8)
T
Technical Score

Aggregates price-based momentum signals: RSI (14), distance from 52W high, SMA50/SMA200 position, short-term rate-of-change, and volume trend. Scored 0–100; values above 60 indicate strong uptrend conditions.

F
Fundamental Score

Enhanced composite score sourced from the Screener.in pipeline, covering earnings quality, revenue growth, balance sheet strength, and institutional interest. Refreshed weekly.

Score: 0–100 · Source: fundamental_scores_database.csv
≥65: Strong · 50–65: Moderate · <50: Speculative
P
Peak Resilience Score

Identifies stocks trading within 20% of their 52-week high — the hallmark of institutional accumulation. Scores favour stocks near their peak with strong technicals, fast drawdown recovery, and solid fundamentals.

0.25 × Tech + 0.20 × RS + 0.20 × RecoverySpeed
+ 0.20 × HighProximity + 0.15 × Fund
2 · Trend & Pattern Indicators
ST
Supertrend

ATR-based dynamic support/resistance line. When price closes above the band the signal turns Bullish; below it turns Bearish. A flip from Bear→Bull adds +2 to the Investment Score. Works best on daily timeframe with a 1–2 week holding horizon.

Period: 10 · Multiplier: 3.0 · Source: NSE OHLC cache
Score bonus: +2 (Bull), −1 (Bear)
B
Consolidation Breakout

Flags stocks that have just broken above a tight multi-week base. Requires the latest close to exceed the prior 20-session high, the base to be narrow (≤12% range), and volume to spike to at least 1.4× the 20-day average — confirming institutional demand.

Lookback: 20 sessions · Base width ≤ 12%
Volume threshold: 1.4× 20D avg · Score bonus: +3
A1
Stage Analysis (O'Neil / Weinstein)

Classifies every stock into one of four price-cycle stages using the SMA 50/200 structure and their slopes. Stage 2 is the preferred research filter for long-only setups (not a buy recommendation). Stage 3 (distribution) and Stage 4 (decline) are excluded from the research shortlist.

  • Stage 2 — Markup ✅: Price > SMA50 > SMA200, both slopes rising, within 20% of 52W high. Score +4.
  • Stage 1 — Base: Price near 200 DMA, MAs flat. Accumulation phase. Score 0.
  • Stage 3 — Distribution ⚠: Near highs but SMA50 flattening, ATR expanding. Score −5.
  • Stage 4 — Decline ❌: Price < SMA50 < SMA200, both MAs falling. Score −8.

Reading the Signals Button

Each stock row has a compact Signals button showing three coloured dots. Click to expand a popup with the full detail for each signal type. Click anywhere else to close.

Green — Bullish signal (F&O bull, insider buy, bullish event)
Red — Bearish signal (F&O bear, insider sell/pledge)
Grey — Neutral / mixed signal
Blue — Upcoming corporate event
Light — No data for this signal type
F&O
F&O Signals

Derived from NSE Futures & Options data. The Put/Call Ratio (PCR) and Open Interest (OI) trend identify smart-money positioning. An expanding OI with rising price confirms a strong trend; falling OI on a rally is a warning.

  • BULL: PCR > 1.2 or OI trending up with price rise
  • MILD_BULL / MILD_BEAR: Mixed OI signals
  • BEAR: PCR < 0.7 or OI building on price decline
Score bonus: +2 (BULL), +1 (MILD_BULL), −1 (MILD_BEAR), −3 (BEAR)
IN
Insider Alerts

Monitors SEBI bulk/block deal disclosures and promoter shareholding changes. Promoter buying at market price is one of the strongest fundamental signals; promoter pledging or large block selling flags elevated risk.

  • PROMOTER_BUYING: +6 score · INSIDER_BUY: +4
  • BULK_DEAL_BUY: +3 · BULK_DEAL_SELL: −3

EV
Corporate Events

Surfaces the next material event (earnings, dividend, board meeting, AGM, split, bonus) from the NSE corporate actions calendar. Urgency is colour-coded by days remaining.

  • 🔴 ≤ 3 days: Imminent — animated pulse badge
  • 🟡 4–7 days: This week — amber badge
  • 🔵 8–30 days: Upcoming — blue badge
  • ⚪ > 30 days: Far out — grey badge
Score bonus: +3 (results ≤7d), +1 (dividend), −1 (AGM/EGM)
4 · Sectoral Seasonality — How to Read the Heat Calendar
B3
Sectoral Heat Calendar (7-Year Monthly Returns)

The heat calendar shows the average return for each NSE sector index in every calendar month, computed over the last 7 years of NSE index data. It answers: "Historically, has this sector tended to go up or down in this month?"

Reading the Colours
> +5%
+2% → +5%
+1% → +2%
0% → +1%
−1% → 0%
−1% → −2%
−2% → −5%
−5% → −10%
< −10%

Arrows inside each cell: ↑ avg > +1% · → flat (−0.5% to +1%) · ↓ avg < −0.5%.
The current month row is highlighted in blue with a ◀ marker.

Signals Derived

Each sector is tagged TAILWIND, HEADWIND, or NEUTRAL for the current month based on its historical average return:

  • TAILWIND: avg monthly return > +2% over ≥5 years of data
  • HEADWIND: avg monthly return < −1%
  • NEUTRAL: between −1% and +2%, or fewer than 5 observations

These signals appear as coloured tags on sector headers in the Sector Rotation tab and as a summary in the Overview.

⚠ Interpretation Guidance

Seasonal patterns are probabilistic, not deterministic. A TAILWIND month improves the base rate; it does not guarantee a positive return. Always cross-reference with the Rotation Score and the current market regime (displayed in the top banner). A HEADWIND season in a strong uptrend sector is less of a deterrent than in a weakening one. Use seasonality as a tie-breaker, not the primary filter.

DD
Drawdown from 52W High

The DD% column shows how far the index is currently trading below its 52-week high. This is the most direct measure of whether an index has corrected or is still near peak levels.

  • 0% to −5%: Near all-time / 52W high — strong trend
  • −5% to −15%: Healthy pullback — possible buy zone
  • −15% to −30%: Correction — wait for base or reversal signal
  • > −30%: Deep decline — avoid unless very strong catalyst
